Job Title: Program Support Coordinator Internship

Location: Fredericksburg, VA      Compensation: $16.00 per hour             Hours: 20-30 hours per week

Job Description: The Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce (VABCC) Program Support Coordinator is pivotal in supporting various programmatic efforts. This position involves learning how to develop and implement strategic plans to grow and engage the Chamber’s member base, ensuring members receive exceptional value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic membership recruitment and retention plans, ensuring continuous growth and engagement of the Chamber’s member base.
  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with members to inform them about Chamber programs, activities, benefits, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with team members to assess community needs and propose innovative membership and program solutions.
  • Monitor membership trends and program performance, preparing comprehensive reports and recommending improvements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs through data analysis and feedback collection and make recommendations for improvements to maximize impact and member satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Pursuing or recently obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, completion of 70 or more credits.
  • Proven experience of 1 year in customer service or an administrative position.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in professional settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A self-starter with a collaborative spirit, capable of working independently and within a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience in membership management and program coordination.
  • Proficient in CRM systems.
